Rapeseed is a large herbaceous representative of the cruciferous family with bright yellow flowers.

A characteristic feature of this crop is the extremely high content of fatty oils in the seeds, increasing further due to warming.

Cosmetic properties:

Like all oils with a high oleic acid and tocopherol content, it has an accelerating effect on healing and tissue regeneration, is suitable for the general improvement of dry skin, relieves inflammation and irritation, restores elasticity and promotes better nutrition and hydration of the skin.

It can be used to dilute more effective skin care products for sensitive skin, crack healing and lip care.

The emollient effect is also shown by helping to smooth skin irregularities during systemic use, especially if this base has been used to produce macerates.

Use in nail and hair care:

Rapeseed oil is today considered one of the cheapest oils for quality restorative care and for the care of dry and damaged hair.

It is used as a carrier oil to create home care products for brittle, damage-prone, exhausted, extremely dry and weakened hair.

Rapeseed oil has a slight clarifying effect and can be used to lighten masks.

Use in soap making:

Rapeseed oil is an excellent low cost base oil that offers the possibility to experiment with active ingredients free of charge.

It is ideal for making silky liquid soaps. In combination with so-called "solid" oils, it is usually added at a concentration of 10-20%.

It can slow down the appearance of the "trace", it can be used to make soap with beautiful curls (swirls).

Rapeseed oil in aromatherapy is used in the following methods:

- obtaining maceration of oil extracts from plant matter and spices in pure form;

- as one of the base oils in soap making;

- for the enrichment of cosmetics as a carrier for essential oils or other base oils up to 10 ml per 100 ml of hair products and 0.5 ml per 10 g of skin care products;

- masked to restore aging skin or for other cosmetic purposes as a carrier for essential oils at a concentration of 1 tablespoon. Rape for 5-10 drops of selected esters;

- as a base for applications, lotions and oil compresses as a cheap carrier for essential oils;

- to create massage mixtures as a diluent for other bases and as a carrier for ethers;

- for hair masks with a concentration of 10 to 50% in the mixture.
